The Importance of Lovely Lawns || Tampa, FL
July 9, 2016
According to a survey published on Total Landscape Care’s website (see link to survey below), 81% of Americans who have a yard or landscaped area say that the upkeep and care of their yard/landscape is important to the look of their home.
88% of US adults report having a yard or landscape; just 12% report having no such area.
People in the South are more likely to have a yard or landscape – 91% of those living in the South report having a yard compared to 85% of people living out west.
The most common use of a yard is relaxing (26%). The most important reasons for maintaining and improving their yard:
* 42% – showing pride in their home
* 16% creating an outdoor relaxing space
* 15% raising or protecting property value
86% of people aged 55+ and 90% of retirees say the upkeep of their yard is important to them.
Those with children under age 18 in the household are more likely to view the yard as a place where the whole family can interact, and where kids can play.

We love our yards but we really don’t seem to enjoy the work required to keep them beautiful. It takes time, energy, money and lots of products.
According to the Green Grok, and statistics published in 2008, there are 40.5 million acres of lawn in the US, costing $30 billion in lawn care, and more than 7 billion gallons of water to irrigate. It’s hard to imagine what the present-day statistics would say about our obsession with lovely lawns.
So, what’s the alternative? Artificial grass is the wave of the future and a thoughtful alternative to live grass lawns. In the western US, specifically California and Arizona, artificial grass lawns are common-place; however, the eastern US still struggles to embrace this uber environmentally friendly approach to front yard landscaping design.
Too much use and abuse, too much shade, lack of water, too much sun, whatever your reason, live grass isn’t the best answer under many different conditions. Your lawn is the framework of your property. The most beautiful home loses all curb appeal when the grass is yellow and spotty. Then, rain and irrigation turns a spotty yard into a muddy yard… dirt and mud that ends up being tracked inside your home and onto your floors, carpets and furniture. An EasyTurf artificial grass lawn is a cleaner, more attractive lawn. Soft to the touch, lush and green in appearance, it is the perfect solution.
Do you find yourself embarrassed by your lawn? Tired of battling the damage caused by chinch bugs and mole crickets, lack of water (either from drought or irrigation restrictions) or from the family dog and/or children that are constantly tearing up the grass? Why would anyone keep putting in more live grass when it didn’t work the first time?

Years ago, few people would even consider having fake grass, but now there’s EasyTurf synthetic turf, the most realistic looking and longest lasting artificial grass solution.
