What is Thatch?
Real grass is made up of intertwined real and dead grass blades as the newer blades of grass grow upward and replace the dying blades. The resulting grass product has differing heights, colors, and texture, rather than being one uniform color and height. EasyTurf artificial turf aims to perfectly mimic real grass’s appearance with the helpful addition of thatch.
Thatch is a shorter, colored material that imitates the dying blades of grass that occur in real grass. EasyTurf artificial grass thatch is created in varying colors of yellow and green, depending on the type of product. Some thatch will also be created with a shorter or longer length, which drastically alters the overall look of the grass. At the end of the day, thatch is a matter of personal preference.
